Tishby, Michael

Son of Israel and Mina. He was born on 14.1.1945 in Zichron Ya’akov. He completed his elementary studies at the Nili School in Zichron Yaakov. Since 1942, he has been a member of the family, from Zichron Yaakov, from Sakhalaya-Kormia. As a child, he was energetic and smiling, but over the years he became serious and diligent and had a warm attitude toward farming and agriculture. This was what led him to study at the Mikveh Israel Agricultural School, where he was one of the outstanding students. . His attitude toward friends and society was innocent and pure and for every matter he took upon himself he was devoted with all his soul and with all his might. He was by nature humble and humble, humble and moderate. He speaks little and does a lot of things. He was anxious for any mishap that could damage the integrity of the deed and what he did was punctuality and love. He was inextricably linked to the earth. His devotion to various branches of agriculture, especially to the vine industry, and his achievements in the school were understandable to all – and his intense love for agriculture was the basis for his satisfaction and his Simcha way of life. He tended to sport and belonged to the Maccabi sports association in Zichron Yaakov; He was particularly good at football. As a descendant of the first pioneers of the foundations of our independent state, he understood that for the sake of the homeland, the burden of liberated land had to be replaced by a tank and a machine gun, which during his stay in his father’s house on his leave from the army he would replace them with a plow. But from the moment he enlisted in the army in February 1962, he devoted himself and his entire life to his various functions, with courage – his Lev and heroism stemming from his sense of mission to the Jewish farmer. Thanks to his tendency for thoroughness and perfection, the young farmer became an admired commander of his company. The IDF made every effort to realize his ambitions and dreams and ascended the ladder of command, and when he completed his regular army service he became a commander of a fighting company and was loved and respected by his company, which led to the last battle on the fifth day of the battles. (9.6.1967), this is the battle that took place in Tel-al-Fakhr in the Golan Heights. He died in an assault on the head of a group of soldiers on the enemy’s fences under fire, and his staff noted Michael’s behavior and was promoted to captain after they fell. He was buried in the military cemetery in Afula and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the cemetery in Zichron Yaakov. In a letter of condolence from the commander of his battalion to the family, it is written: “Michael was devoted and loyal to the battalion and to the State, and he was a symbol and a model to his friends. He never hesitated and did not hesitate to carry out the difficult tasks that were imposed on him. A pamphlet of his name was published by the B’nai B’rith Order in Zichron Yaakov (“The Office of Adolf and Sarah Kraus”), with the assistance of the local council and with the participation of the parents. The same bureau has been called since the “Michael Tishby Hall” and a plaque was placed in front of the Rothschild Garden. The parents donated two doors to the Great Synagogue of Ohel Ya’akov in Zichron Yaakov. His memory was raised in Maccabim, the journal of Maccabi Israel.
