Tesler, Dov (Bartzi)


Son of Fanny and Eliezer, was born in 1928 in the city of Marmaros-Sighet, an important Jewish center in north-west Romania, which in 1940 was returned to Hungary and thus its Jewish inhabitants were exterminated in large numbers. Dov was sent to a concentration camp, but managed to stay alive and thus arrived in Palestine at the end of 1944 as part of the Youth Aliyah. He was educated at the youth movement and in Afikim and worked in agriculture and agriculture. Dov joined the Palmach and moved to Ramat Hakovesh, where he also became famous for his good behavior and devotion, where he received news of the destruction of the family, except for his father and brother, who survived the war. Haim and his comrades were not satisfied with serving in the rear, and at their request they were transferred to combat service in the Jerusalem Brigade, and Dov participated in all operations until he fell during the Legion attack on the radar in the Judean Hills on May 26, 1948. On the 25th of Cheshvan 5704 (17.11.1949) was brought to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
