Techer, Yehezkel (Oscar)


Son of Zlata and Mendel, was born on October 11, 1929, in Hungary, as a member of a religious family, and joined the Bnei Akiva religious youth movement on the day of the UN General Assembly’s decision to partition the country into two states. . Yehezkel was one of the defenders of the Etzion Bloc who arrived with the recruits from the Palmach recruits from Tel Aviv who volunteered as reinforcements for the besieged Gush Etzion, and devoted all his energies to rescuing the spot and fell with the fallen in Kfar Etzion on Wednesday, May 13, 1948. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
