Tayeb, Moshe
Moshe, son of Janet and Victor, was born on October 15, 1955 in Tunis and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1956. When his older brother was drafted into the Yom Kippur War, he made a vow that his beard would grow until his brother was alive and well, and Moshe was drafted into the IDF in November 1973, three months before his time. When his mother asked him why he was enlisting prematurely, he replied, “Mom, I’m a Jew.” He was stationed in the Armored Corps and was sent to complete basic training in the Corps. On 2 Kislev, December 15, 1973, he fell while serving in the Ashkelon cemetery, leaving behind a father, mother, brother and four sisters, and his mother said that she was always waiting for him to enter the house, but now she has no one to wait for .
