Tayeb, Daniel

Son of Albert and Matilda. He was born on June 2, 1950 in Tunis, Tunisia. Where he graduated from elementary school. In 1961 the family immigrated to Israel and Daniel with them. In Israel he continued to attend high school for one year and then studied at Kibbutz Reshefim until he completed his studies at the age of seventeen. He was very fond of the guitar. His friends knew little about him because he liked to be alone with the guitar strings and the pages of his books. In his arguments with his friends he was stubborn because he knew how to fight his views, but his silence often ended with an argument that would eventually win. With this Daniel knew how to listen and understand. As soon as he completed his studies in July 1967, he was drafted into the IDF – and his face turned to a paratroop brigade. He was a member of Nahal Geshur and the green fields and flowerbeds, as well as the buildings of the settlement. This was the wonderful change that Daniel, who acted in deep silence, took part in, and before he completed his regular service he went to battle in the Golan Heights on 17.6.1968 ) And near the village of Haspin encountered a Nahal squad which belonged to an enemy squad of saboteurs – and fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Tiberias. The commander of his unit, in a letter of condolences to his family, wrote: “Despite the short time he served in the Nachal Gesher settlement, Daniel managed to prove himself as an excellent soldier with a strong desire to fulfill all his duties. Showed great devotion in his work to cultivate the attachment he loved and improved. Daniel was deeply involved in social life and was always willing to help any member who needed his help. “
