Tayach, Moses
Was born in the late nineteenth century in Galicia. When he was fifteen, he left his parents’ home and immigrated to Israel. In Israel, he was hired as an agricultural laborer in the Zichron Yaakov settlement, where he became known as a diligent and devoted laborer. Due to the precarious security situation in Israel at the time, he enlisted in guard duty and became one of the best guards in the colony. On the night of the 7th of Tishrei 5613, Sept. 18 1912, he suddenly heard footsteps and went to check up on the noise, At that moment, a bullet was fired from his pistol and he fell dead. He was laid to rest in the Zichron Yaakov cemetery, and his name is mentioned in the book “Yizkor” in Yiddish, which was published in New York and in the book “Zichron Ya’akov”.
