Tal (Talmon), Mordechai (“Motke”)
Son of Solomon and Sarah. He was born on August 14, 1933 in Teutz, Romania. He completed his elementary studies there and when the family arrived in Israel in 1948, he attended a high school in Tel Aviv until he completed his studies. Mordechai was drafted into the IDF in July 1951 and volunteered to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade, during which Mordekhai sank more than a thousand times, and the wonderful feeling of being in the air enchanted him since the first jump, although he never ceased to fall. Two years before the end of his service, Mordechai was called to the base commander, who suggested that he go to the officers’ course, but he did not accept his proposal. And that was what Mordechai agreed to – and signed it in June 1956 In the first free fall, he was very afraid, as he told himself, and in the second jump he was less afraid and from the third jump he was already “crazy” for free fall, no longer afraid or afraid that the parachute would not open. A point on the ground near which he had to land, hundreds of parachutes fell, but he always knew how to overcome them and land safely, one of them hovering close to one of the seats in the south, and suddenly a wind blew in the direction of the seat. Choose between landing on the cowshed roof or on top of eucalyptus tops. I chose Eucalyptus. From the tree, I split into the high tension line, tore it up and hit the ground. “Mordechai was promoted to the rank of captain, and a parachuting instructor was set up at his own initiative and on his own initiative he set up a club for which he devoted all his spare time. A pleasant and useful meeting after their work hours On 17 Tevet 5730 he was injured while fulfilling his duty and seventeen days later, on the fifteenth of Shvat 5702 (22.1.1970), died of his wounds. He left a wife and three children. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Rehovot.
