Sweed, Anwar
Son of Zliha and Nassib. He was born on 25.10.1964 in Beit Jann. Anwar grew up and was educated on the values of the Druze community. He attended elementary school in Beit Jann and graduated from Rama High School. Even as a child he had turned out to be intelligent and clever. He excelled in his studies and received praise from his teacher, the principal of the high school, and the parents of his friends. During his studies he was a member of the Scout movement. Anwar loved literature first and read books a lot. He loved playing soccer with the neighborhood and continued to do so as an adult. He loved to go hunting for his hunting rifle, and he was an outstanding shooter. Anwar was loved by everyone and loved by his friends and family. He had a joie de vivre and a sense of humor, and he always wore a smile. In mid-February 1983 he enlisted in the IDF and joined the Infantry Corps, completing basic training as an apprentice trainee and then successfully completing a commanding officer course and being sent to his unit in the Arad area as a lieutenant colonel. Anwar was sent to a unit resistance course and was later placed in the Iron Formation camp, in a position against discipline. According to his commanders, who is in his personal file, he was “disciplined, professional and enterprising”. After completing his regular service he volunteered to serve in the regular army. On February 27, 1988, Anwar fell during his service and was put to rest in the cemetery in Beit Jann. He left behind her fiancée – Etaf, parents, six brothers and two sisters – Dahesh, Safi, Hikmat, Shukat, Betrayal, Mehdi, Methil and her mother. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Anwar served as the disciplinary chief of the brigade headquarters. He performed the tasks best assigned to him. Anwar was a loyal son of his family, friends and village in Beit Jann and was loved by the soldiers in the unit. “His parents and friends set up a public library in his honor in Beit Jann.
