Suissa, Nissim (Maxim)


Son of and David. He was born on the 16th of Cheshvan 5762 (13.11.1965) in Beit Shean, to a large family of children. Maxim grew up in Beit She’an. At the end of September 1983, Maxime was drafted into compulsory military service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). He went on to basic training, joined the military establishment and met all the tasks. Maxim was stationed in the Ordnance Corps and went to the truck drivers course. At the end of the course he was sent to a unit of the Ordnance Corps in Lebanon. Maxim served in Lebanon for about two and a half years and was promoted to the rank of corporal, Maxim was very attached to his family, and as a driver in Lebanon he did all he could to help and support his parents. On the 16th of Tishrei 5747 (October 16, 1986) Maxim fell during his service, during a vacancy during the liberation and was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the Beit Shean cemetery, leaving behind his parents, three sisters – Aliza, Tami and Shosh and five brothers – Shalom, Hanan, Yossi, Meir and Uri In a letter of condolences to the bereaved family, The commander of the unit wrote: “Maxim was two years in Lebanon during the war of 1943. He was a disciplined soldier, a good-hearted quiet and always Simcha to help and help … Before his tragic death he wanted to build a fountain in the unit and even began construction.
