Son of Yehudit and Yitzhak, was born on 11.6.1963 in Ramle. He is the second son of a family of ten. From childhood, Yinon stood out for his talents. He studied at the Horev Elementary School in Ramle, excelled in his studies and skipped a class. Yinon graduated from the school at a young age, and went to study at Mivtaba for outstanding students in Bnei Brak. From there he moved to the “Bar Ilan” High School in Bat Yam, and completed successfully. Yinon was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. He was interested in various sports: football, basketball, swimming and table tennis, and he had another hobby – collecting stamps. Yinon stood out for his energy and talents. He had a comfortable disposition, Simcha and smiling, devoted to his family and responsible for every task he was assigned. Yinon was an entrepreneur, always willing to volunteer for others. He worked in the Civil Guard in Ramle, helped his brothers and sisters to study, and in order to help his family with his livelihood he went to work in a factory in Tel Aviv. Yinon was a leader by nature. He gathered around him wandering youths in Ramle, and helped them prepare themselves for service in the IDF, and he set up a successful project, and at the festive end of the project, And to the Ministry of Education, before his service to the IDF, to his mother’s dismay. Yinon asked to volunteer for an elite unit, paratroopers or naval commandos, although he could serve near the house because he was a son working in a family with many children. In February 1981 he enlisted in the Golani Brigade, underwent basic training, and one year after he began his service, he was sent to a squad commanders’ course. At the end of the training course, Yanun was offered to serve near the house, but he did not agree, and his demand was to return to being a fighter with his friends, On June 16, 1982, Yinon was hit by an enemy shell near the Beirut airport and killed, and was killed at the age of 19. After he fell, Yinon was promoted to sergeant, and Minister of Defense Ariel Sharon wrote to his family: “He volunteered to serve in Golani, This division has a great challenge. Yinon could have served close to the house and helped his family, but his desire to be a combat soldier and a commander overcame any other consideration.
