Son of Avshalom and Eve. Born in Kibbutz Kfar Giladi on 11.1.1951, he studied at the elementary school in Neve Magen and at the Ironi Aleph High School in Tel Aviv, and Meir had a developed aesthetic sense, a sharp mind and the intelligence of an adult. He was a good-natured boy with a sense of humor, and his parents had a very devoted son, and he proved it in the days of the crisis that descended upon the family. Meir was drafted into the IDF in August 1969 and assigned to the Armored Corps. At the Armored Corps school he was an outstanding student in theory, and he worked hard to specialize in practical work. With great vigor and enthusiasm he did the work in the tank and eventually became an excellent tank driver and a perfect professional. He proved this when he served in an operational unit on the canal line, treating his tank with great devotion and expertise. In the first fire drill he took part, he played his part well and was praised by his commanders. In his short life he was an expensive son, a devoted student, a beloved friend and a loyal soldier, whose life was the essence of his work. On the 12th of Nissan 5740 (12.4.1970), only six months after his enlistment, he fell in the area of ​​the Suez Canal and was brought to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery, and his friends published a booklet bearing the name “Meir” In the Broshim School, where the father worked as a chief psychologist, an art and culture room was opened, much of whose equipment was donated to Meir’s memory by the family members In Israel, family friends in the United States collected a sum of money to set up a scholarship fund in his memory, a master’s degree in research in practical education, given at Tel Aviv University; According to the decision of the Tel Aviv Municipality’s names committee, the clubs of the psychological-educational service run by his father are named after Meir.
