Smirnov, Yevgeny

Yevgeny, son of of Maria and Nicolai Smirnov, was born in Russia in 1974 and immigrated to Israel at the end of 1998. After studying medicine in Russia, Yevgeny was tested in Israel and certified as a doctor. In June 2000 he enlisted in the IDF, passed an officer’s course and served in the medical corps as a doctor. After completing compulsory military service, he continued to serve in the IDF, serving in Ashdod. Captain Yevgeny fell in the line of duty on the 20th of Tammuz (2.7.2010). He was buried at the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion.
