Moshe wore the silver “wings of the parachutist” and the “Six Day War” symbol on his chest. Shortly before the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War, his unit was called up for reserve duty. Moshe, who was willing to reserve duty, told the plant manager, “Now I can rest at the outpost on the banks of the canal, after the intensive work at the factory.” The Yom Kippur War found Moshe and his friends besieged in the “Oracle” stronghold on the banks of the Suez Canal. For a day and a half, the defenders stopped dozens of attacks by Egyptian soldiers and commandos who tried to break into the outpost. Moshe was injured, but despite his injury he continued to fight valiantly. When the ammunition ran out, the survivors decided to break out of the besieged stronghold and make their way toward our forces. On the way they encountered many ambushes and all escaped safely. On the brink of rescue, on the 7th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973) between the strongholds of “Oracle” and “extrovert,” Moshe was hit and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the Lod cemetery. Survived by a wife, daughter and son, parents, two sisters and three brothers. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Moshe was one of our ranks and fought valiantly in the” Oracle “stronghold on the edge of the Suez Canal.
