Shurin, Heinz


Son of Hedwig (Eddie) and Emil, was born on February 25, 1942 in Germany and completed a high school of art and architecture there. In 1935 he immigrated to Israel, settled in Jerusalem, and worked as an architect. With the outbreak of the War of Independence he was drafted into the ranks of the defenders of Jerusalem and served in the defense positions of the city. On February 3, 1948) was hit by a bullet of murderers standing on guard duty in the Arnona neighborhood of Jerusalem and fell into a void. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on the Mount of Olives. He left behind a wife and two children. His name was engraved on the monument erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in memory of those who perished in the Jewish Quarter and the memory of fighters who fell in battle for Jerusalem and were buried in the Mount of Olives
