Shiloni, Elisha
Son of Pinchas and Zehava, members of Beit-Alpha from 1934 and living in kibbutz life. He was born on January 24, 1944 in the kibbutz. When he reached school age, he began studying at the Gilboa educational institution until he completed his studies there. As a child he was shy and sensitive. Over the years, he has discovered great qualities of speed of thought and speed of movement that discretion has accompanied them – these traits have led him to excel in all the areas he has dealt with. He showed talent in the real professions and at the same time was a versatile athlete who took an active part in the local basketball team. He devoted all his holidays to farm work and from an early age he continued to work in agricultural machinery. When he enlisted in the IDF in November 1962, he decided to volunteer for the Israel Air Force, completing a pilot training course and completing all the rigorous tests. The kibbutz agreed to release him for another year to the air force and to the squadron When the battles of the Six-Day War broke out, he participated in the air campaign in Sinai at the El-Arish axis and on the eve of Shavuot on Thursday, (13.6.1967) fell in the line of duty and he was on an operational flight as a pilot With a seniority of three years. He was laid to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Beit Alfa. With the information of the Gilboa Regional Council in memory of the fallen people, his memory was raised. In his book “Benigno”, which was published by the kibbutz, a special section was dedicated to him. The kibbutz issued a booklet in his memory. In booklet 53 of them, published by the Kibbutz Artzi in memory of its fallen comrades, a page was devoted to his history.
