Shiloni, Almog-Asael


Almog-Asael, the son of Michal and Yosef Chai Shiloni, was born in 1994 in Jerusalem. He was very devoted to his studies and was especially interested in learning Torah. Almog-Asael was recruited on March 21, 2013 and underwent training courses at the Air Force Infantry School in order to become a professional and skilled fighter in the “Magen Hanegev” platoon.
On November 11, 2014, at the compound of the Haganah train station on his way south to his base, a terrorist attacked him with a knife. Passengers who passed through the scene tried to rescue the soldier and called for help. Almog-Asael was evacuated to Shiba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, but died of his wounds on 18 Cheshvan, 10.11.2014. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving behind his parents and four brothers, and after his death, Almog-Asael was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
