Sherf, Sa’id
Son of Zohar and Hassan, he was born in 1949 in Kfar Hurfeish, in the Western Galilee. Sai’d was a member of the Druze community. He attended school in his village for nine years and continued his studies at the Amal school in Safed. Then Said stopped his studies and went to work. He was one of the leaders of the Druze Scouts, and stood out for his leadership. In November 1966 Sa’id was drafted into the IDF and served in the infantry corps, and he was promoted to the rank of Corporal, and in August 1968 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant Sayid had a parachuting course and a Krav Maga instructor course, and he moved up the ranks, and in January 1971 he was promoted to Major General. Sa’id was sent to the officers’ course, completed his career in July 1972 and promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Sa’id fought in the Six Day War, the Yom Kippur War and the Peace for Galilee War. After the battles of the Peace for Galilee War, he was appointed deputy commander of the military government in Tire and an officer in charge of assisting the citizens of the city. On 25 Kislev, November 11, 1982, following the explosion of a gas tank in the government building, the building collapsed and buried its inhabitants. Among those killed was Sa’id. He was 33 years old. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in his village, Hurfeish. Sa’id left behind a wife, two sons, parents, two brothers and four sisters.
