Shani (Tessel), Micha (“Mickey”)


Son of Israel and Ruth. Born in Tel Aviv on March 8, 1949, he studied at the elementary school in Tzahala, and when he completed his elementary studies, he traveled with his family to France, where he attended high school, but completed his high school studies after returning to Israel. (“Alliance”) in Ramat Aviv, he was a diligent and responsible student and he passed the matriculation exams with honors, and his social activities were mostly in the framework of his circle of friends in Tzahala and he was always willing to help others and devoted much time to helping the weak He was drafted into the IDF in mid-August 1968 and assigned to the Armored Corps. Afterward, he volunteered to serve in the Armored Corps. In early January 1970, he underwent an officers’ course. On May 26, 1970, Lieutenant-Colonel Micha fell in the line of duty several days after he was registered for marriage. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His name was commemorated by establishing a fund in his name at Ilan, whose goal is to help injured children continue their post-secondary studies.
