Shamor, Uziel (Uzi)


Son of Sarah and Saadia. Uziel was born in Petah Tikva on April 21, 1949, to parents from Yemen. Uziel graduated from elementary school and studied at the vocational school in Petah Tikva. During his studies, he inclined his shoulder and helped the family economy by working in his school. Uziel, Uzi in the mouth of his friends, was very active in the youth movement at Sha’ariya and was known as a cute, friendly and popular young man in society. In 1967 he joined the Border Police. Uziel was proud of his army and was proud to serve there. He underwent basic infantry training and was assigned to the Jenin Company in the north. On April 15, 1969, Uziel and nine other policemen left the company for operational activity in Jenin. The Uziel policeman fell while carrying out his duties and was buried at the military cemetery in Petach Tikva
