Shabtai, Elad

The eldest son of Kochava and Eliezer. Born on the 8th of Tishrei, September 19, 1988 in Jerusalem. On August 6, 2007, Elad enlisted in the IDF, serving as a sergeant in the “Nimar” Battalion 405 in the Golan formation of the Northern Command. Captain Benny Sarai, commander of the Magen Company in the artillery corps, awarded him a certificate of excellence “for his contribution to the company and battalion. First Sergeant Elad fell in the course of his duties on the 17th of Tammuz, June 29, 2010. He was twenty-two when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. He was survived by his parents and two brothers.
