Schechter, Chaim (Harry)


Chaim (Harry), son of Malka and Yechezkel Schechter, was born in 1918 in Bacau, Romania. In 1944, he lived with his wife and child in Holon, where he joined the Haganah. During the War of Independence, he served in the “Kiryati” Brigade in defending the area. Chaim fell during the bombing of the Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv by Egyptian planes on 9 Iyar, 15 May 1948. He was brought to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
