In March 2003, Adi was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and began his military career as a combat soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade, but due to health problems he was forced to retire and be transferred to the Medical Corps, He was appointed battalion medic at the Paratrooper Brigade Training Base, and during the course of his military service, he managed the clinic and the entire staff as best he could, and received a commendation for the most outstanding medical unit in the Medical Corps. He was released from the army in March 2006 with many plans for the future, and began working as a security guard at Givon Military Industries Was due to begin his studies in Orientalism at the University of Be’er Sheva in the fall of 2006. He spoke fluent Arabic and his aspiration was to work for the Shin Bet. Five months after his release, at the end of July 2006, Adi was drafted into the first reserve duty and the fighting in Lebanon, where he was attached to the Magellan sabotage unit. “From the first moment it was clear that Adi was a born leader, the best right hand there was, above all, a human being, he was an exemplary commander and a symbol for all the apprentices, and he helped everyone with great patience.” On the 9th of Av 5766 (9.8.2006), Valentine’s Day, Adi fell in battle during the Second Lebanon War and he is twenty-two years old. An anti-tank missile that Hizbullah sent to the building where he was staying in the village of Dibel ended his life and the lives of eight other soldiers in the battalion. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Ramle, left his parents and three sisters and was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
