Mina and Aaron. He was born on September 19, 1917 in Kfar Tavor (Masa). In 1922 the family moved to Tiberias, where Yosef graduated from elementary school and then moved to Haifa to study at the Reali School. Where he joined the Scouts and also visited the “Mahanot Haolim”. His main hobby was drawing, but he also devoted himself to sports, especially to sea sports, and as an excellent swimmer he won many prizes in swimming competitions. At the Reali School he became fond of his teachers and classmates and was exemplary in his integrity, his modesty, his love for others and his devotion to the people and the country. However, he did not complete high school and entered a work life in order to contribute to the burden of supporting the family. He went to the construction industry, worked first as a simple laborer and then became an excellent climber and worked in the construction of many buildings in Haifa and the surrounding area. In 1938, when he was twenty years old, he was accepted into the General Labor Federation and was proud of the member he received. In addition to his work, he devoted his time and energy to the Hagana organization and later became one of the Haganah commanders in Kiryat Haim. On the night of the aliyah to Hanita (21.3.1938) he was sent by the Haganah to head the Signal and Signal Unit and was the first to announce the attack on the new settlement and called for help. A month later, the camp moved to Hanita Elit, and Joseph went there on the 16 th of Nissan (16.4.1938) to install the signaling system. On his way back that day, in a group of five Haganah patrols, their vehicles were ambushed by an Arab gang and three passengers were killed, including Yosef.
