Rostovski, Shmuel (Shmulik)
Shmuel (Shmulik), son of Simcha and Chaim, was born on April 24, 1942 in Tel Aviv. Shmuel was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-May 1960. After completing basic training, he was trained as a medic in the Golani Brigade, and was a very good and disciplined soldier, always ready to help anyone in need. After his discharge from the regular army, he was called from time to time for reserve duty, and was awarded the “Six Day War.” During his entire army service he tried not to worry about his family and wrote letters home. Shmuel and was sent with his unit to the front in Sinai on the fifteenth of Tishrei 5734, 1 st. Sukkot (11.10.1973) In the afternoon he was hit and killed in a battle on the “Mars” axis, and he went out with ammunition to arm the fighting tanks, and suddenly a number of enemy planes appeared, dropped bombs and Shmuel was hit and killed on the spot. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife and daughter, mother, brother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
