Rosner, Hillel-David


The eldest son of Dvora-Bluma and Rafael-Yehuda. He was born on the 20th of Tishrei 5736 (20.9.1975) in France. When he was four years old, the family immigrated to Israel and lived in Haifa. Hillel began his studies at the Carmel elementary school. When he reached third grade, the family moved to Tel Aviv, where Hillel studied at the Alumot Elementary School, went on to the Zeitlin junior high school, and in the 10th grade he attended the Kfar Haroeh high school, where he successfully completed high school studies at the ” Ilan University, where he studied chemistry, and was a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement, where he volunteered for a year of service as the movement coordinator at the Raanana branch. He was recruited for several months. Since he aspired to volunteer for a combat unit and serve as a fighter, he began to harden his body and in the year before his enlistment he practiced running and gym. His dream was to be a paratrooper, but he had to give up because of medical problems. Prior to joining the IDF, he traveled abroad with his family and visited relatives in his home country, France. He completed a basic infantry training course, went on to basic training, and successfully completed a 6th level engineering course. He was assigned as a combat soldier in the engineering divisions of the Givati ​​Brigade. He was proud of his position and his unit and his commanders expected him as a commander. Hillel spent three and a half months serving in Lebanon. On June 18, 1995, Hillel fell in battle in Lebanon, where an IDF force engaged in opening an axis in the area of ​​the pumpkin outpost in the eastern sector of the security zone encountered a squad of Hezbollah terrorists who opened fire with light arms and RPGs. The soldiers, including Hillel, stormed towards the terrorists and returned fire, during which Hillel was injured by the terrorists’ gunfire and was killed, along with an advanced sergeant, Hani Muhammad, and an advanced sergeant, Hashem Rahal. In Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv, aged 19. He left parents, two brothers – Yonatan, Eliezer and sister – Chava, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant.In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Nun Lipkin-Shahak: “Hillel served as a track team Division of Engineering Battalion, Givati ​​and was described by his superiors as a soldier responsible and professional, with a personal level and high self-discipline, which would mobilize all assignments done by the end of the satisfaction of his superiors.” The commander of the Engineering Corps Company wrote to the family: “During his service, Hillel demonstrated the highest professional ability, both during the course and in the operational-defensive activity on the northern border, and Hillel performed every mission he was assigned with determination, heroism and dedication to the mission. Brave, highly capable of command, highly disciplined and sympathetic to his comrades and commanders. ” The Bar Ilan high school Yeshiva, where Hillel studied, published a special booklet in his memory, containing articles and valuations written by his family, teachers, friends and loved ones, as well as a selection of his letters.
