Rosenthal-Sofrin, Theodore-Marion (Dudu)


Son of Josephine and Jacob, was born on December 26, 1931 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. On December 27, 1947, he immigrated to Eretz Israel as part of the Youth Aliya and spent several months in the nucleus of the Romanian immigrants in Hanita. With the outbreak of the War of Independence he volunteered for the army despite his youth and served in the Carmeli Brigade. Dudu fell in battle in the Western Galilee in the area of ​​Mughar on the 17th of Tammuz 5708 (24.7.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. He was survived by his mother and grandfather in Romania, who were about to immigrate to Israel.
