Rosenblit, Alexander (Alex)


Son of Valentina and Roman, was born on January 9, 1971 in Leningrad (today St. Petersburg), a large and Yaffa city in northern Russia. His father, Roman, who holds a doctorate in physics, worked as a laboratory head at a research institute. The mother, Valentina, worked as an engineer at the Leningrad port. Alex received his elementary and high school education in Leningrad. As a child he loved to sing and therefore the parents chose a school where he taught music and poetry, as well as the French language at length and in depth. Many of the schoolchildren played various instruments, most of them singing. Alex and his friends set up a band called Galles – a word from the shipping industry, which means: a certain method of sailing against the wind, but actually consisted of the initials of the band members, who played and sang songs they composed themselves. During high school Alex also dealt with sports – fencing, running, football. In summer, on a great vacation, he loved fishing, a hobby he had nurtured during his life. In 1988, Alex graduated from high school and began studying at the Institute of Ship Engineering. In 1990, after studying for two years at the Institute, he immigrated to Israel with his parents. After completing his studies in Hebrew ulpan, Alex was accepted to the Technion and began studying in geodetic engineering, a science that deals with the size and shape of the earth. In 1995 he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in geodetic engineering. Alex began his profession as a geodesic engineer during his studies at the Technion, and continued to do so after completing his studies. In April 1996, Alex enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and completed his career in the Israel Air Force, specializing in military service, and in 1998 he became a regular soldier. The music of Alex was much more than a hobby, he loved music, saw it as a way of life, and invested his best in this activity, the great hobby of his life was the composition of songs and the performance of the guitar. Aviv, where he did his military service, participated in singing and music competitions held in Haifa, and dreamed of many people He was interested in the history of the Land of Israel, knew a great deal about its history, and loved to tell about it.In his spare time, Alex loved to travel with his friends in Israel And his family, and the fish, and in 1998, Alex married Ela, and they were born to Son of-Liran On the 17th of Cheshvan 5759 (17.11.1998), during his fishing vacation in the north of Israel, He left behind a wife, son, parents and grandmother. Alex was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Kiryat Bialik. His relatives and friends gathered his poems in a book and on the tape – in Alex’s voice – which they published in his memory. In the opening remarks to the book of poems, he wrote: “… as soon as his songs begin to be heard and they are reminded of the mischievous sparks in his eyes – everyone wants to sing, cry and laugh together … Part of the soul of Alex was invested in his songs. In his waves, to think and write poems, and in his sharp senses he guessed the danger of the sea, but his fate carried him into the waves … “
