Rosenberg, Menachem (Nahmi)


Menachem (Nachmi), son of Rela and Zvi, was born on October 4, 1949, in Ramat Gan. Menachem was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1967, volunteered for the paratroopers and was assigned to the commando unit, and was very proud of his membership in the unit and fulfilled his duties with great Lev and energy. In his recommendation for promotion, his commander wrote: “A good soldier, he fulfills his duties as a noncommissioned sergeant and as a class sergeant in an excellent manner.” In the midst of the war of attrition, Nahmani wrote to his father: “This time I devote this letter to you especially, because I think you are especially concerned about me, and perhaps you are more concerned. As a soldier, he was accepted as a full-time student at the University’s Mathematics Faculty in Tel Aviv, where he worked in a safety patrol and gave mathematics classes to high school students. , Interrupted his studies and after two years of study decided to move to the engineering school in Tel Aviv, where he married Nurit in late 1973. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Nachmani’s unit was sent to the Golan Heights and on the fifth day of the war was transferred south to Sinai.
