Romano, Yaakov-David (Jacko)


Yaakov Dovid Ramano (Jacko), son of Balina and Chaviv-Robert, was born in Istanbul, Turkey on Purim, March 6, 1928. At the age of 10, he lost his parents and continued his studies at the school with the support of his older brothers and sisters, and in 1943 he immigrated to Israel as part of the Youth Aliyah where he completed his education and training in the Immigrant Youth Group in Kvutzat Shiller. After a year and a half he moved to Tel Aviv, where he began to work in a pastry shop. Yaakov Dovid became a soldier at the beginning of the battles in Israel and served in one of the Givati ​​Brigade regiments. He took part in all the regiments of the battalion until he fell in Kobeiba in Operation Bar Yochai on 18 Iyar, May 27, 1948. He was laid to rest at the Nahalat Yitzchak Military Cemetery.
