Roda, Eilat (Ayala)
Daughter of Gladys and Jacob. She was born on 26.8.1969 in Bat Yam, the middle daughter of her family. When she reached compulsory education, the family lived in Holon and Eilat studied at the Remez elementary school. She continued her studies at the Tel Giborim High School, a secretarial course. She was a pretty, smiling, quiet, introverted girl who used to listen to romantic music and collect decorated postcards and greeting cards. She was sensitive to others, willing to help, to listen and to advise. In the period between her graduation and her army service, she worked at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer in the dialysis department, where she liked both the staff and the patients and maintained contact with some of them after her enlistment. She was recruited to serve in the Israel Defense Forces in January 1988 and was assigned to serve as a post officer in the Israel Defense Forces’ (7.4.1988) and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Holon. She left parents, three sisters – Ronit, Nava, and Oshrat, and two brothers – Yigal and Shai. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, its commander wrote that Sheilat did all she could to perform her duties well despite her difficulties. A Torah library was established to commemorate her memory.
