Ben Hanania. Eliahu was born on February 23, 1953. He immigrated to Israel in 1962 when he was 9. Eliahu joined the police on December 23, 1975. His first job was to work as a general worker in the Quartermaster Department, In the southern Gaza Strip, where he served most of his service, and in the last seventeen years of his life Eliahu was commander of the southern camp. His friends in the unit say that he did everything modestly, with great humility and dedication, and fulfilled his last role as well as his other duties with loyalty, diligence, and thoroughness. Which is typical of him: From a sense of responsibility and a mission, Eliyahu kept every detail to the last detail, in order to provide the necessary service and to ensure that things were done properly. And in recognition of his contribution in 1982. In 1982 he was awarded an outstanding policeman’s certificate for his part in the evacuation of Yamit, and in 2000 received a certificate of appreciation for his work and his great contribution. He fell during his service. He was fifty-six years old when he fell. He was buried in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva.
