Roads, Alaa


Son of a nun and separated. Born on 21.5.1981 in the village of Julis, brother to Sliman, Saher, Shadi and Sabrin. Alaa studied at Julius B. Elementary School and graduated with honors from the Jolis Comprehensive High School. He was very active in his social life in his village, took part in events at the community center and played basketball and soccer with his peers, and he loved computers and sat for many hours in front of the computer. To join the Armored Corps, who joined the IDF in August 1999 and was assigned, at his request, to the Armored Corps. After basic training, and after undergoing vocational courses, he was joined as a regular fighter in the Armored Corps. He was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and was offered an officer’s course and promoted. Alaa refused, because he was very attached to his comrades in the company and understood the importance of his service as a tank driver. Four months before his death, Alaa began to build his house next to his parents’ house and intended to establish a family in his village, and after completing his regular service he planned to go abroad with his friends abroad, especially in Australia . On March 14, 2002, a powerful explosive device was detonated against his tank, which was in operational activity near Netzarim, and Alaa was killed. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in the village of Julis. He was twenty-one years old when he fell. Survived by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
