Reifer, Zvi (Hershele)


Zvi, son of Miriam and Yosef Reifer, was born on 5 November 1927 in Tyszowce, Poland. He was forced to work in the German camps during the Second World War, after which he wandered through DP camps in Germany to France and immigrated to Israel from Marseille on the ship “Theodor Herzl”. The ship was captured and brought to Cyprus and held there for about nine months When he arrived in Israel on December 1, 1947, he immediately joined the ranks of the defenders and served in the Givati ​​Brigade. H fell on the 21st of June 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak
