Regolsky, Eliyahu


Eliyahu, son of Margalit and Reuven, one of the founders of Kibbutz Dorot, was born on January 6, 1942 in Hadera. Eliyahu was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early August 1961. During basic training he continued to serve in the Gadna, where he held several command positions, including the commander of the Gadna in Masada. During the Yom Kippur War, Eli fought with an armored unit in the battle against the Egyptians in the Sinai. On October 14, 1973, during a battle in the northern sector of the Suez Canal, he was sent with his unit to clean up the area where the enemy was holding. While he was helping to evacuate the wounded, he was injured in the shelling and after he was evacuated he died of his wounds. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Dorot.
