Ram-Cohen, Yoad Yitzhak

Ram-Cohen, Yoad Yitzhak

Yoad Yitzhak, son of Dalia and Yechezkel Ram-Cohen, was born in Jerusalem in 1995. The name Yoad was created by combining the name of G-d with the initials of the name of Dalia’s father. Yoad was always at the center of things. His friends trusted him and loved him very much. Every Saturday evening they would meet in the public park in their neighborhood, sit on a permanent bench (which would later become a significant part of the memorial shield that was erected in his memory) to talk about the past week and plan the next one. Yoad was a sensitive and special soul, who over the years yearned to study Torah and Mishnah. On July 29, 2013 he enlisted and began his service in the Artillery Corps. About a month and a half after his enlistment, Private Yoad Yitzhak Ram-Cohen fell during his service on 10 Tishrei, Yom Kippur, September 14, 2013. He was eighteen and a half years old when he fell, and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
