Radai, Mordechai


Son of Haim and Shulamit. Born on the 11th of Adar 5702 (February 28, 1950) in Rishon Letzion, he studied at the Yeshurun ​​elementary school and at the Reali high school. He was a gifted athlete and excelled in long field trips. He was also a soccer player in the Hapoel Rishon Lezion youth group. He later joined the alumni group. He had a strong desire to move forward, to learn and to add knowledge. He knew how to fulfill any idea he had conceived and nothing was in his way. When he decided to concentrate on his studies, he was one of the outstanding students. His home became a social center and his friends, who gathered there, felt at home. Mordechai was drafted into the IDF in November 1968. He was assigned to the Engineering Corps, and after completing his basic training he went on to a commanding officer course and graduated with honors. On December 10, 1969, Mordecai was killed by enemy shelling in the Canal Zone and brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Rishon Letzion
