Prigent, Albert

Son of Shimon and Hannah. Was born on April 12, 1947 in Casablanca, Morocco. Immigrated to Israel in 1960. He completed his studies at the Maale Hashaharut elementary school in Haifa. Albert was a diligent student. After graduating from school, he began working in a water-clock repair shop. He worked in this profession for ten years and became known as an excellent professional. When he was 20, he married a wife and when his son and daughter were born, the family relocated to Karmiel. Albert was quickly absorbed in the company. He was loved by his neighbors and friends at his new place of work – in the “concrete model” factory in Karmiel. Albert moved quickly in his position in the factory and was eventually appointed department head. Another son was born to Albert and his wife, and he was not happier when he played with his children. He spent many hours with them, took walks with them, and played their games. Albert loved sports and played football a lot. He even joined the Maccabi Carmiel soccer team and was evaluated by his teammates as an excellent player. Albert was drafted into the Haganah in 1966, where he was called up for reserve duty every year, and was trained in the course of commanding officers and officers of observation positions, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel. On September 29, 1974, Albert fell while serving. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind a wife, two sons, a daughter and parents. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Albert was a commander in our unit and fulfilled his duties with devotion and loyalty to his unit, the IDF and his people. He was an inseparable part of us – the commandments of the commanders and soldiers – and was the cornerstone of the unit. He made his way quietly and quietly, but every soldier under his command knew that in difficult times he could count on Albert as a brother and a true friend. “Albert’s family donated a memorial lamp to the synagogue in Carmiel.
