Pozarik, Yaniv

Pozarik, Yaniv

Larissa’s eldest son and beautiful. He was born on October 5, 1988 in Bat Yam. Brother of Alona and Ariel. Yaniv was born in the “Hakirya” hospital in Tel Aviv, a blond baby with blue eyes. His birth gave the family great happiness and joy. His affectionate name at home would have been disrupted, and already as a baby he stood out in his smiles and mischief. In the first years of his life, the family lived in Bat Yam and when he was three he moved to Holon. He was a smiling child with an inexhaustible joy of life. He had a strong desire to learn and to know. A quiet, shy and polite boy. From the first grade he studied at the AD Gordon Elementary School and was a beloved and beloved child. Galit Arazi, the teacher of his fifth- and sixth-grade class, said: “The smile is full of the joy of life … The quiet and the calm … I was more modest than I remember how you would wait for the end of the food break, The gate before the game is always nice, always a good friend, courteous, helpful … with lessons sitting in the first rows and your laughter rolling like bells reverberates in the classroom. ” At the age of fourteen he changed and became a social nail, surrounded by friends. He then continued his studies at the “Golda Meir” junior high school in his hometown and completed his studies at the Kugel High School in Holon. Yaniv was a thin, solid, muscular man, even though he did not exercise. Not only in his body structure, but also in the structure of his personality was a steady and strong Yaniv, and difficulties in his life he referred to crises momentary, ephemeral. He loved his parents and younger brothers and cared for them from an early age. Alona, his sister a year and a half younger, was his best friend. They spent time together and Yaniv paid her special attention. In general, he took care of all his family members, supported them all, helped and listened to everyone who needed them – parents, brothers and friends. For example, when one of his friends was on the verge of dropping out of high school because of personal problems, Yaniv encouraged and strengthened him and the friend remained and graduated with a high school diploma. Yaniv was honest with himself and others. In the family and among his friends he was at the center of things, funny and sweeping. His friends said that in his company there was always interest and entertainment. He enjoys dining in restaurants, spending time in pubs, clubs or discos. In order to increase his entertainment budget, as a high school student, he worked in a clothing store and cafe kitchens. His motto was to live the day, to take advantage of each day at its best because it is impossible to know what will happen tomorrow. “He always had time for everyone,” his father related, “he never used to tell me, ‘I do not have time.'” When I asked him to do something, “When Yaniv was drafted, he was relieved of his service conditions so that he could go home every week to help his father. “On the last Saturday he was in the house, he told me that he had signed a waiver and actually gave up his ID,” Yefim said. “I told him I needed him, so he said his friends needed him more and that he could not leave them alone in the tank. But he believed that everyone in the State of Israel was obligated to serve in combat, so he refused to move in. Yaniv was a fan of Maccabi Tel Aviv, and he liked swimming, sea sports, and the Sido Speedster, And with the help of his parents, he spent time with her in the Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean Sea. We had a speedboat and almost every Saturday we went to the sea. He loved water skiing very much. I remember once we were in the Sea of Galilee and Yaniv was skiing, after he got tired, he went up to the boat and rested on it, and I dragged my young son Ariel on a banana behind the boat. On one of the rounds, the banana capsized and Ariel fell into the water. “Yaniv jumpedAnd swam to his brother, even though Ariel was wearing a life jacket and Yaniv was not. He reached him right away and helped him get on the banana. “Yaniv would jump into the water not only for his brother, but for everyone else,” his father explained. “I remember when Yaniv was sixteen, in the middle of class, some boy threatened his friend with a knife, Yaniv jumped to his friend’s defense without hesitating, and Yaniv was stabbed and needed medical treatment – stitches in a hospital. During his military service, he behaved the same way. ” When he was recruited, Yaniv sold the boat and planned to buy a motorcycle. Since he loved the sea, he wanted to enlist in the navy but was assigned to the Armored Corps. In August 2007 he began a training course as a combat soldier and was prominent in the company and in the platoon as a friendly and smiling soldier, generous, pushing forward and increasing his morale. “It’s too small for us,” he told his friends on the journeys. “They’ll be done soon.” On the stretcher journey, Yaniv dragged the stretcher from the beginning of the journey to its end. Many times his friends asked to replace him and he refused, because he wanted to know if his strength would stand the test of truth. If a friend is injured and there is no one to replace him, will he have enough strength to carry the injured person until he reaches our forces? Yaniv tested himself and passed the test successfully. At the end of the journey they all received a new pin, while Yaniv received his pin from his commander. The commander removed the pin from his lapel and gave it to Yaniv in appreciation. Yaniv never gave up, not even in dozens of kilometers. All this out of a desire to be prepared and trained to protect the state and its residents. “If my tank is hit in the middle of Lebanon, what will I bring to Hezbollah, the exemption?” said. Before the “week of war” in training Yaniv told his parents that he would not be available on his mobile phone. When he came home he told us about the difficulty that accompanied this week, especially on the last day, when only three slices of bread were left for four soldiers. And on Sunday, when he returned to the base, Yaniv went to another “war week” voluntarily because another soldier was missing. His friends in the intensive service passed with him for many moments, both happy and hard. Even those who knew him only for a short time felt as though they had known him from childhood. He could find a common language with each person, connect with each other, listen to the problems of others, support and help as best he could. “Every memory that comes from you is just a smile … The laughs … The sitting in the garbage, the coffee shop in the field … You were an outstanding soldier, you gave yourself for the sake of the whole, you were a loyal friend and you had to lean on it when it was hard. Everything you asked for was done in the best possible way … a man with amazing mental strength. When we started working on the tanks, you got in touch. You loved the tank, you loved the soldier. And like your character you liked the teamwork. Every weekend we would return to the company from the field. Yaniv always had the dirtiest dirt on his face, but the big smile was not erased even in difficult times. “Although Armored Corps was not his choice, he respected the decision and completed his training course with honors. He graduated from the “Adam” Brigade in August 2007. Education from home instructed him to do what was best for him, and Yaniv wanted to serve as a combat soldier and continue to command and command. “At the end of the seven-month course, he was offered the opportunity to continue with the tank commanders course, “At the end of February, Yaniv was caught in a” Saar “squadron, which was supposed to begin in the next round, which was supposed to begin four months later. “ShepAnd after a short training he went into operational activity on the northern border as a “Merkava” tank charge at the “Levana” post on the northern border. “During the operation, he carried out continuous ambushes, day and night, in which he displayed seriousness, dedication and help to others,” said Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi in a letter sent to the family after Yaniv’s death. In a letter of condolence to the parents, Lt. Col. Meir Bar-Meir, the unit’s commander, wrote: “I visited the outpost and spoke with your son and his friends about the important activity they are doing, the level of alertness they must maintain at the present time. Demonstrated professionalism and friendship and created a good atmosphere around him. “Yaniv was very motivated to carry out the tasks assigned to him during the operational activity, while showing dedication and diligence, all with a smile. Captain Ido Horowitz, commander of the Zohar operation, summed up Yaniv’s interview with the words: “A serious soldier with high aspirations, excels during the course.” Yaniv was modest and modest, and Captain Horowitz noted that Yaniv told him only after he “extorted” it from him. “During the three weeks that you fought with the company on the Lebanese border, I watched you, I questioned the operational missions to which you went out day and night. Always controlling the material, the positions of the enemy, the ground, our forces, like a serious old warrior, you surprised me each time with renewed control and motivation. The day before the terrible incident, I carried out an exercise in your platoon, in which you and your crew attacked the post with the tank. I identified you fighting the tank, manipulating all the tools, taking off the antennas, firing a uniform machinegun, throwing grenades, fighting the teeth, finishing the exercise, getting off the tank, your tank commander yelled at you “Yaniv will come here, you will run happily and happily.” He had ambitions and dreams about his unit, he was proud of it, but Yaniv managed to serve only one month in “Operation” and his dreams were abruptly cut off. Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Corporal Yaniv Fozarik fell in the line of duty at the Livneh post on the Lebanese border, on 19 March 2007, at the age of nineteen and a half. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Holon cemetery. Survived by his parents, sister and brother. “I still expect to meet you in your natural situation, dirty from hard work on the tank, sitting with friends and telling jokes and stories about the house,” lamented Deputy Lt. Lior Levin. “My first encounter with you was when you came to the department and from the first assignment you made it was clear to me which serious guy and investor had come to us … I understood your poisonous head and it was clear to you that you came to the department for a short while before continuing on to command and to continue your ambitions … Your modesty hid a lot Impressive things … You were an outstanding person and you were entitled to give up your service as a combat soldier and chose despite all the difficulties to continue in the company and to serve as a soldier in difficult conditions. I strongly advised you that if you did The day before you were killed, we carried out team maneuvers and you did something small – lifting an antenna – that showed me how much you control the cell and a serious fighter. I decided to tell Amos that I plan to take you to a commanders’ course. ” On his gravestone, the family engraved the dedication: “Remember and we will never forget, you are forever locked in our hearts.” At his deathYaniv saved six people and gave them life when his organs were donated, according to his parents’ decision. “Yaniv was proud of our decision,” said Larissa and Yefim. “Yaniv loved to help people and the contribution of the heart is an expression of his personality, and if we were asked about the donation of the heart, we have no doubt that he would have wanted it. Director Esther London created the film “Brothers in the Heart” for the special relationship between the Pozoarik family and the young Arab Christian family whose life was saved after Yaniv’s heart was implanted in his body. The two families are still in contact and meet regularly. His father is handsome tattooed on his right hand the portrait of Yaniv’s face. On the sixth anniversary of his death, his parents held a memorial ceremony at the Yad LaBanim home in Holon, attended by Mayor Moti Sasson, friends and family members, commanders and soldiers. His family and friends opened a “community” in his memory on the “Makurimim” Web site, and a picture slideshow was uploaded to YouTube.
