Pinso, Yosef

Son of Perla and Binyamin, was born in January 1932 in Jerusalem. On May 27, 1948, three platoons of the 8th Battalion of the Negev Brigade set out to sabotage the transport of the Egyptian enemy on the Khan Yunis-Rafah road. Yoseph was no longer considered a soldier in the unit, he urged his commanders to be attached to the force, and during preparations the force entered an Egyptian ambush Three soldiers, Yosef and one of them, turned north, and instead of reaching the old Nirim (Dangur), they reached the Arab village of Beit Jara, The informers who worked for the Palmach, said the that the three soldiers were shot to death by the Arabs of the village and were buried there. Even a retaliatory act the next day did not help their comrades find the burial place of their comrades and their burial place is unknown to this day. A monument in his memory was erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
