Pasternak, Barak (Ricky)


Son of Ann and Dov, was born on 10.1.1964 in Rehovot, but grew up in Arad. Barak attended the “Afarim” elementary school and the comprehensive high school – both in Arad. One year – 1976 – Studied in a high school in England. In England, too, as in Israel, he excelled in his studies. When he was in ninth grade, he was awarded the “Outstanding Student” award at the school. During his studies he was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement. Despite the asthma he suffered from, he was a multi-colored athlete who loved swimming and jumping into the water. He often helped his friends who were having trouble studying and preparing for the exams and returned him love and admiration. Barak read a lot, especially adventure books and loved games that required so much skill and skill, for example, was the school champion in the arrangement of the Hungarian cube and his excellent memory was very helpful. Barak loved pranks and invented tricks that he used against his friends and teachers. Barak enlisted in the IDF in mid-January 1982. He was sent to a combat paramedics course and on April 19, 1982, he fell during his service. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Arad. Left parents and three sisters.
