Passy, ​​Joseph


Son of Celia and Shmuel. He was born in 1923 in Salonika, Greece, and at the age of a year and a half Joseph was orphaned of his mother and raised in his aunt’s home, where he studied at a Talmud Torah. He worked in an engineering unit and took part in battles against the Germans in Greece, where he was captured, escaped, caught, and sent to a concentration camp with his brother who was in Greece at the outbreak of the war. Joseph found his death in a Nazi concentration camp on 7 Tamuz, 2.7.1941.. He left a wife, two daughters and a sister. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
