Panderfine, Emanuel (“Manny”)


Son of Jacob and Pnina. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Was at a young age when his parents fell into the hands of the Nazis and he was picked up by gentiles and lived with them in Hava until 1946, when he was brought to Israel together with his brothers in the framework of the Youth Aliyah. He was educated at the “Moza” children’s institution in Jerusalem and in the village of Juliana. He belonged to Bnei Akiva. Was drafted into the IDF in July 1956, served less than a year and fell during his duty on the 24th of Adar 5727 (March 24, 1957) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
