Pace, Leibl


Son of Leah and Israel. He was born in 1915 in Grodno, Poland, where he studied in a “cheder” and immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1925. The family settled in Petach Tikva where Leibl graduated from the Ahad Ha’am High School. In April 1941 he was sent to Greece with a force to assist the Greeks in their war against the Italians and the Germans. In April 1941 the British troops surrendered to the Germans and many of the soldiers were taken captive, Leibl among them. He stayed in German captivity for three years and died on 16 Nisan, 30.03.1941. He was buried in ATHENS MEMORIAL, Athens, Greece.
