Ogan, Yehuda
Son of Shraga and Miriam. He was born on May 18, 1935 in Yagur. From the beginning of his studies, he stood out as a diligent and ambitious man and one of the best students. Upon his entry into the children’s company he began to discover activity in all the social areas: he excelled in and participated in many sports establishments; He was active in the choir of the school and his orchestra – and was always with him; He also showed talent for dance and acting and often participated in various performances. By joining the youth group of the kibbutzim, he had often given his hand to concentrating the company with great success; He excelled in organizational ability and leadership qualities. By the time he reached the age of 15, he was already teaching children’s classes from the younger age group, and when he graduated from high school, he became a member of the kibbutz together with his contemporaries. At the end of the year, he enlisted in the IDF in November 1955, took a platoon commander’s course, and then stayed at the same place. On the 11th of Adar 5717 (February 12, 1957) while on duty, he was wounded and on the way to the hospital died of his wounds. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in the Yagur farm. The file “To the end”, which includes his letters and excerpts from his diary, was published by the Yagur Association. A year later, a basketball competition was held in memory of Yehuda and Zucker Dov Yellin (also a member of the Yagur Farm) who fell in battle.
