Efraim, son of Rivka and Chaim, was born on 25.1.1953 in Tel Aviv and completed his elementary studies at the “Amishav” school in Ramat Gan and later completed high school at the Herzliya Gymnasium in Tel- Aviv was a lively child, whose alertness was expressed in various ways – from attention to the things that took place around him, to his interest in various sports: he was a soccer player and was a member of Hapoel’s soccer team, He was also interested in swimming, took a course in amateur rescuers and received a certificate from Metzilah-Hovav, who was admired by his friends and teachers who appreciated all his good qualities He loved social life and loved people, so he spent a lot of time with his friends and was willing to give his time and attention, always willing to help a friend who needed help in studies and anyone who needed encouragement or good advice. He liked to read books in various fields and enjoyed studying them, and when he completed his elementary studies, he chose to study at the military boarding school of the Herzliya Gymnasium, where he was able to acquire many friends. Both his commanders and his friends loved him, appreciated his willingness, his devotion and his loyalty to fulfilling any role, task or training. In the military boarding school he also played in the Mossad orchestra. Ephraim was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-May 1971 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing basic training, he was assigned to serve as a non-commissioned officer of the Patton tank. In the army, as elsewhere, he excelled in his devotion and in the perfect fulfillment of his role. His commanders and subordinates loved him and appreciated him as a loyal and dedicated man who was willing to make every effort to do what he had to do efficiently and thoroughly. During his service he was awarded a trophy, in recognition of his achievements as commander of the best tank in his battalion. His commanders tried to persuade him to go to the officers’ course because he knew his abilities and skills in command areas, but for personal reasons he decided not to go on a course, and to continue his role as a tank noncom, and during the Yom Kippur War Ephraim fought in Sinai to fight the Egyptians who crossed the Suez Canal. In the Sinai, on the 7th of Tishrei 5734 (7 October 1973), Efrayim was killed and killed by enemy tank fire After about a month his family was notified that he was missing, and only after two months of fear, He stayed behind in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister A year in which he was awarded a commendation by Major General Yekutiel Adam, who describes his heroic deeds during the war, and praises his bravery and dedication during the battle in the Chinese farm area, in the role of a tank commander. To commemorate his name, a sports fund was established.
