Nataf, Meir (Pierre)


Son of Yehuda and Eugenia. He was born in 1940 in Tunis, where he studied in an elementary school and later immigrated to Kibbutz Ein Zurim in 1956. He was a mechanical locksmith and from this profession he found his bread until his last day. He was drafted in June 1959, and after completing his regular service he was called from time to time for reserve duty. And light for the day 26 Iyar 5727 (4.6.1967) At midnight on the day of the outbreak of the Six-Day War, he fell in the line of duty in the vicinity of Jerusalem, the capital. He left a wife and a daughter; The wife was pregnant and three months later a son named after him was born. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The commander of his unit wrote to the bereaved family that he was “a good and disciplined soldier, acceptable to his comrades and commanders – and his death caused great sorrow in the hearts of all the unit’s members.”
