Nahum, Haim


Born in 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq, he immigrated to Israel with his family in Israel and studied in the elementary schools Netzach Yisrael in Petah Tikva and Tachkemoni in Tiberias. He was a diligent student, and was diligent at school, and was naturally very friendly, willing to help others, and was very respectful to his family. Haim was active in the Gadna, participated in training and traveled extensively in Israel. He was an outstanding athlete, an avid soccer fan, both as an actor and as an observer. From his youth he was an enthusiastic fan of the Maccabi Petah Tikva group. Haim was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early November 1968. He was a loyal and dedicated soldier, and was injured when he was driving in a vehicle that was on a mine during a tour. He was hit and killed during the break-in to the city of Suez on October 24, 1973. He was brought to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery, leaving behind his parents and five brothers and sisters. His parents donated a Torah scroll to the Naharayim synagogue in Petach Tikvah.
