Naftali, Lior


The eldest son of Sarah and Moshe, the brother of Anat, Shai, and Barak. He was born in the Kirya Hospital in Tel Aviv on July 20, 1972. In his early years, Lior became a quiet and introverted child, and his younger siblings, Anat and Shai, He grew up in Tel Aviv and began his studies at the Giborei Israel Elementary School and graduated from Ironi Tet High School, where he studied in junior high and high school. He was very fond of learning, reading and enriching his knowledge, and was very wise in his studies. Professor Moshe Smilansky, in which students met every Friday and studied together, the pursuit of justice, the love of truth, honesty and fairness were among Lior’s outstanding qualities, and Lior was always lying and never willing to lie for others. In the playground there was a glass puppy and his father suggested that he keep it to himself, Lior insisted that it be returned to its owner Lior was a passionate crossword puzzle, and when others were “stuck” with complicated definitions, it was Lior who immediately found the solution. His leisure time was devoted to the computer. Although he was quiet and did not share much of his soul inward, Lior was a friendly and loving person. His friends tell of his broad heart, his uncompromising loyalty and his willingness to help and lend a hand at all times. But most of all, Lior was a child of a house, a very family boy, honoring his parents and appreciating everything that was done for him. For example, when Lior finished eating, he made sure to say thank you, and did not take anything for granted. Lior’s Bar Mitzvah ceremony, celebrated together with his sister’s bat, is remembered as one of the most exciting and special events in the family’s life. This was a double joy, and left a mark in the hearts of many of the participants. As a teenager, Lior became a handsome, handsome young man. Order and cleanliness were very important to him, and this was evident both in his meticulous appearance and in the way he related to his things and surroundings. He was fifteen years old when his younger brother, Barak, was born. Lior received with great love and hug, and together with his brother nurtured him and gave him warmth and pampering. He remained for five months from the day he completed his studies until his induction. He took good advantage of the time and began working at the Mishkan Bank. His first career at the bank was in the archive, and Raba had the benefit he brought and the order he ruled there. On January 27, 2003, Lior was sent to join his battalion. He did not return from this reserve duty. Lior was killed on Sunday (February 3, 2003) in an operational activity in Samaria, during a routine operation in the Bruchin area near Eli Gold settlement. And three of his friends were wounded in the jeep, one of them, sergeant Major (res.) Nir Fisher, who was critically wounded, died of his wounds two days after the accident, and was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Holon. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant.
