Shimon, son of Chachla and Yosef Chaim Moriah, was born in Baghdad in 1926, the capital of Iraq. In his city he completed a Torah school, studied electrical engineering and worked there. Shimon immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1942. Shimon joined the army and served in the “Kiryati” Brigade and fell in battle in Kfar Ana on 4 Sivan, June 11, 1948. He was brought to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
