Monchash, Zvi
Son of Yonah and Avraham, was born on 25.8.1926 in Warsaw, Poland. Zvi, his brother and mother, following his father, immigrated to Israel in 1935, by way of illegal immigration.
Zvi gradulated school with honors and excellence, When he completed his studies, Zvi joined the Haganah and devoted himself to aviation matters. He participated in the Daya competitions and even received a prize, and later joined the Irgun underground in the manufacture and repair of weapons. During the transfer of weapons, Zvi was wounded by shrapnel from a grenade. At the outbreak of the War of Independence following the UN General Assembly resolution of November 29, 1947 on the partition of the country into two states, he served in the “Kiryati” Brigade and was stationed at the borders of Tel Aviv. On the 18th of Nissan, April 27, 1948, on the Operation Chametz “to encircle Jaffa, Zvi fell and was brought to rest at the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery and left a wife.
